How I Found It

Interestingly, this movie is as old as me. The movie has a forgettable , ununderstandable name. So is the plot. Not forgettable for sure, but I took a while to realise where it’s going.

I had heard of the movie a lot. Kate Winslet in blue hair is good-looking. Searched on the internet for movies similar to “About Time”. Here we go.

A Glimpse

The movie starts with a man called Joel Barish (played by Jim Carrey) waking up lost, going to office on a Valentine’s day. He gets a weird urge to take a break and head to Montauk (A beautiful place full of a ice on which you can skate around. Hidden between mountains and pines). He takes the train, and our journey begins. That’s all the spoilers you get.

It’s a fantastic portrayal of a concept. Peak creativity in writing. One of those movies that makes me love humanity. Makes me awe at the clarity and thoughts of creators. This movie is sad, romantic and dramatic sci-fi. Loved every bit.

Interpretation

The movie seems a mess at first. By the end, I have a lot of takeaways. All in all, it made me realise again, that we are a teeny-tiny-small part of this world. We are lucky to have a life. Just live it dude. Do what you love (I am guilty of saying Do what you can is better, but its incomplete without love. Add a love in between, and you get the life of your dreams). Live life as you wish.

If we had the chance to live those moments again, and be disappointed by the end, I would still live them. Because at least in those moments, I was happy. I lived.

Remember that life is tough. Its tough to move on. But you had a life before them, a life without them too. You can rebuild it, its OK. (this para is inspired from a section in the movie). Love this movie.
